Very intriguing new addition to development board at DNA. Katharine Mackel, 5’10”.
Eboni Riley in Vogue Paris February 2014, ph. by Mikael Jansson.
Impressive follow-up to her Givenchy campaign and has yet to hit the runway. Hurry up, February.
Marthe Wiggers for October’s W Magazine by Santiago & Mauricio
I see a major exclusive or debut campaign for Ms. Wiggers!
Captivated by James Beauclerk @ Next London.
Ladies and gentlemen, Kai Newman @onemanagement. #astarisborn
Eagerly anticipating her Paris leg of SS14. New York and Milan have treated her incredibly well with turns at Calvin Klein, Gucci, Jil Sander, and more (only) top shows in her debut season. Her beauty has a quiet strength which translates nicely as a new face on the runway. All about Kai right now.
Expecting to see a lot of Paulina Heiler @dnamodels this upcoming season. Here we go.
A delicate flower quickly blooming, 17-yr old New Face Holly Rose Emery @NextModels @Red11Management is a girl to watch for come September. The pouty New Zealander has quickly been building her resume - first down under (home) working up a storm, making a splash at MBFWA, landing the cover of Miss Vogue Aus, Resort collection for top Australian designer Josh Goot, and most recently catapulted to the world stage where her international debut saw her walk the Prada Resort 2014 (really, Menswear SS14) show in Milano followed by 4 top FW13 Couture shows in Paris, including Valentino, Armani Privé, and Elie Saab. Placed with Next Worldwide, do expect a moment for this heavenly kiwi come September for RTW. The fight for exclusivity on Holly will be intense; question is, who will win?
As we know in fashion, timing is everything. It’s a good thing 19 year-old New Dutch face Abel van Oeveren decided to take a break from the books and give this a shot. The result? A Burberry Prorsum opener + exclusive, and booking only the top tier shows in Europe in his debut season (SS14). Hard to miss his perfectly chiseled jaw line (and body) - his look evokes a youthful masculinity bound to flourish into the ranks of top male model down the line. Somehow, Abel managed to find some time in his busy schedule for a brief interview exclusively for 322434!

Name: Abel van Oeveren
Nationality: Dutch / Netherlands
Place of Birth: The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands
Agencies Worldwide: VNY (New York), Elite (London), Bananas (Paris), Tony Jones (Amsterdam/Mother Agency)

322434: How did you start modeling?
AvO: I submitted to an agency (Tony Jones) in Holland, and got scouted the next day.
322434: What made you submit yourself?
AvO: A friend from my hometown was at this particular agency doing modeling work, and that’s how I got into this. My studies were running into a dead end so I was trying to find something new.
322434: How long have you been modeling?
AvO: Three months.
322434: Did you have an interest in fashion or modeling before you started?
AvO: Not at all, I was a student and kite surfer.
322434: What were you studying in school?
AvO: I was studying Commercial Economics at the University of Applied Sciences in The Hague. I decided to go full-time on the modeling career and take at least one gap year.
322434: Congrats on the exclusive and opening the Burberry Prorsum show! Tell me about that experience for you.
AvO: It was awesome! My exclusive was Fit-to-Confirm so I didn’t know I got the job just two days before the show. I was so happy when I got it. Also, I didn’t know I was opening until an hour before the show. Three looks and opening, damn I was shocked. Head designer Christopher is a really cool guy and made me feel comfortable right up to the last second before the show started. He’s an awesome guy, great pleasure working with him.
322434: You then went on to walk in Milan for Jil Sander, Prada - some of the most important designers in the world; how did you feel when you booked these shows?
AvO: Great, haha! I was scared at Prada because I know the stories about them cutting people from the show seconds before it starts! But, all went well and I was really stoked.
322434: What do you like most and least about the shows?
AvO: Most is the traveling and meeting new people who have become good friends. Least… at this moment, not getting enough sleep. During fashion week it’s crazy, sometimes I’m working 17 hours straight, in the morning a show in Milan and in the evening 6 fittings in Paris. But it’s worth it of course.
322434: Your first season in Paris - how did it go?
AvO: I can look back to a great first season, The shows I did here were: Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Kenzo, Kris Van Assche, Dries Van Noten, Carven, Melinda Gloss, and Miharayasuhiro. I opened 3 shows this season.
322434: Overall, which were your favourites?
AvO: Burberry & Dsquared2.
322434: After such a great season for a newcomer, industry eyes are now on you. How do you feel about what’s to come?
AvO: Excited! I hope to book a (or multiple) campaign(s). But if not, I like the life I live right now.
322434: Anything exciting brewing post-show season?
AvO: Some great editorials coming up, having a break in Ibiza and another fashion week coming up. Then it starts all over again.
322434: Looking forward to those editorials and seeing you next season. Thanks Abel!
AvO: You’re welcome!

Jack Bradshaw @majormodelsny has flown just under the radar until now - exclusive for Versace SS14 tonight in Milano. He debuted last season in NY walking for DKNY and Patrick Ervell. The brows, the gaze, the lips, the jaw, the body.. Bradshaw has it all. The Canadian high school student, who you can see ALL over SSENSE.COM, is surely one to watch as he continues to develop in time for hopefully a full circuit next season. And what a name… x
Tom Gaskin @ d1models will inevitably be the guy, come the end of menswear month, who everyone’s asking about. Casting director Jess Hallett appropriately cast him for Alexander McQueen SS14 at London Collections: Men where he opened and closed the show. Today, we saw him open Jil Sander in Milano, and my guess is, on account of his beautifully eerie look (like something out of Lord of The Rings or hints of Dobby from Harry Potter), we’ll see him in Paris. SS14 is Tom’s debut season and surely it’s off to a great start.
New Face Ben Crank @SelectModelMgmt. Definitely one to watch for multi-market domination and hopeful sweep of the SS14 shows. Made runway debut at J.W. Anderson today at LC:M. Boyish, but sexy. The lips, the brows, the piercing green eyes, the slender toned frame… All-around striking. Great find Select! Photo by Michael Furlonger.
RIP Paul Boche’s iconic blonde locks. They will be missed dearly. Photo by Giacomo Cosua.
